Moustapha Sarhank is the Executive Chairman of IBAG for Money Transfer Services, Western Union Money Transfer Agent since 1995. Sarhank’s deep rooted relationship with Western Union sees him as a member of a select few of Western Union’s Agents’ Advisory Board.

Having an affinity in Information Technology with software solutions knowledge, Sarhank spearheaded the launch of Microsoft, Oracle, and Internet Security Systems (ISS) in Egypt and the Middle East in 1987, 1989, and 1990 respectively. He also presides Sarhank Group for Investments, a regional holding and private equity company specialized in corporate investments, systems build-up, and systems integration.

Sarhank is a fellow in the Olsson Center for Applied Ethics at the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia. He focuses on the intermarriage fields of Leadership, Business Ethics, Faith, Religion and Responsible Management Decision Making of which he regularly lectures MBA students.

Sarhank’s passion for business excellence and leadership has driven him to play an active role in the community where he was a founding member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) in Egypt as well as a former board member of the Arab Young Arab Leaders Organization (YAL) out of the UAE. His leadership style is structured around the Sufi Corporate Leadership Model where – in a corporate setting – Sufism, and virtue merge to form a style that is characterized by love, servanthood, and ethical engagement in business. That embracement of spirituality and ethical core values led him in his career in the past to be chosen as a member of the Transparency and Integrity Committee of Egypt at the time of its inception.

As an alumnus of the American University of Cairo with a BA in Economics, Sarhank served as Chairman of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the School of Business at AUC and currently is a proud member of the school’s Dean’s Advisory Board. He holds a Doctorate of Business Administration in Sufi Corporate Leadership from Grenoble Ecole de Management, France.
